My country is one of the least developed countries in the Western
Hemisphere, where basic need: education, public health, access to
proper hygiene, and food are all the major problems facing the Haitian
population. In Haiti there is a lack of knowledge of vector borne
diseases, their transmission, and how to prevent them.
In September
2004 I started a MSc course in Biology and Control of Parasite and
Disease Vectors at the Liverpool
School of Tropical Medicine, with the full support of the Lymphatic
Filariasis Support Centre and WHO/TDR. The support from the Centre
enabled me to further my studies. I attend the MSc course for approximately
11 months and the course comprised of orientation, taught modules
(12) (60 credits) and a research project leading to the submission
of a dissertation (60 credits).
I have just
completed my MSc qualification successfully and I really appreciated
the help and support of my sponsors, who place their hope on me
for a better Haiti with less public health problems. I truly see
myself as potential resource especially for the Haitian LF programme.
Big Thanks
again to all my Sponsors, |
